Diary of an Edinburgher

Montmarte?

T’was a sunny day from the get-go start! Fluffy white clouds with blue sky in between was such a nice sight.

We’ve been working up to Archie’s haircut. JR was keen to do it again, and I had the idea of doing one half of him, and she could do the other side when she came home from the gym. But I started too early, and she still hadn’t arrived, so I just kept going. His coat is so shiny when it’s cut. He’s SO patient.

Then I took him out round the Links, taking a photo of the overflowing communal bin to send in to the council. I complain about this bin regularly.

I watched tennis, while JR went to buy some new trainers - she’s been researching them for ages.

It was SUCH a lovely afternoon that it was a shame to spend it indoors. When she came home, JR’s suggestion of a glass of wine down at the cafe was a good one! We sat in the sun, and imagined we were in Montmarte. Our friend stopped for a chat, but I insisted he speak French. Which he did. When I first met him years ago, he had enthused about the area, claiming Marchmont was like living in Montmarte…

The others then went for more of a walk while I came home to watch the next men’s singles match. It’ll be really good when I can actually see the ball…
