The end of the road

This is where we woke up this morning after a night of heavy rain. I am standing at the end of the road where I took the picture.
The homestead consists of three houses and a barn, around a central lawn, all about 500m from the real road, winding through the forest.
We stayed a short while today and then headed for home, via a gas depot where we could get our bottles filled, which was considerably cheaper than exchanging empty for full, which is the more usual system.
I'm still working on the problem of the van's side door but we've done a temporary fix and are moving towards the solution.
That's going to be it for today because tiredness is driving me to bed...
