Farewell
G needed to be out of the flat, so she dropped me off at work. That was nice, but I did miss my drive. ;)
I was able to chat with my immediate boss about time off over the summer and how we can manage it. I've got some thinking to do. The immediate outcome is that I work half-days this week and next, so when I left at lunchtime, I didn't have to go back, except with everyone leaving for holidays, Neha's farewell was planned for the afternoon.
I'm glad I went back and had my camera with me. It was so neat how Louise arranged it. It felt like we were in a living room, all sitting either on the sofa or seats around it. We had Baskin Robbins ice cream. :)) And when we returned to our desks, the balloons were taken down in seconds and moved to Neha's desk. That's clever.
The big thing today was to watch England's semi-final match against Holland. We went back to Elements, getting there in time to get a nice seat, in fact, it was a sofa! We were in amongst the locals, who were all, thankfully, England supporters. As for the match, leaving it until 89:59 to score the second goal to clinch a spot in the final. Even the King asked Gareth Southgate to go easy on our hearts and blood pressure and win with less drama!
We came home very, very happy with the result.
