Life in Sunny Dubai

Holding on

I drove myself to work today after AGES! It felt so good. I love driving to work! G had a visit from the maintenance man to check on whether the work they had done in the upstairs bathroom had stopped a slow leak that has gone on for years.

The day in the office went well, even with a depleted team. I got to chat with one of my bosses about time off and the future. I left at lunchtime, and then - in theory, I had the rest of the day off but ended up putting in a couple of hours. I have to say, I fell asleep on the sofa - I am so tired!

The big thing in the evening was helping G book her flight back to the UK. It took a while to look through all the options, but in the end, I just went to the BA website and did it there. They now have a new option to buy a reduced-price ticket if you don't have any checked luggage. (She didn't opt for that).

So, now that is done, I can plan what to do in Dubai over the summer. I had a look at the Hilton app and found a great summer rate for a hotel that I've wanted to stay at for the longest time. I also ordered a battery for G's Kindle, which has stopped charging. Diane said yes to carrying a couple of spare parts back for me. :))

I was hoping we would go out for a short walk, but we didn't, so I'm glad I got a few shots of the flame tree outside the window. A few flowers are still hanging on, though they are much smaller. They sure brighten the view.
