A day of Maintenance

I got to bed exhausted last night, except I had to make it first. Argh!

It's a new week at work for me. I was up early, which is just as well. The A/c man came to check the living room unit. For some unknown reason, yesterday, for the first time, water leaked into the room. It is a known fault with split unit a/c's but if they are regularly serviced, it should not happen.

I was impressed Sohail came so soon. He gave it a thorough check and said he couldn't find anything. Typical. It was OK in the evening and through the night. If it happens again, he is going to pressure wash the unit.

I got on with the day. After lunch, we had more people in the flat, this time in the form of a preventative pest control team. They used an organic product but we still had to leave the flat for at least two hours. As the battery for my Flip 3 speaker arrived during the week, I called in at the Thomsun service centre. I couldn't believe it when the technician went off with it, asking me to wait. He fixed it on the spot! Wow.

We then went to the Peugeot garage for them to recheck the a/c. It exhibited a problem it's had since we got it. I had hoped that changing the compressor, evaporator and condenser would fix it, but - no! We waited over an hour and the car was cooling better as we drove home, but we need to do a long drive to be sure.

It's been a day full of maintenance-related items, but GOOD. We even tidied up the car boot, something G has been talking about doing for months! It's funny how quickly it got done when we eventually tackled it!
