Meet Mapp...

.. or is that Lucia? heh heh...Couldn't resist...I stalked this cute little turtle - a Northern Map Turtle - for ages today - from spying her little head far out in the water, to her swimming toward the rocky shoreline of the cottage, to her trying to climb up onto the rock where it was a bit too steep for sleeping, and then to where she finally found the perfect place in the sun....where at last I could get a close-up of her... I am so easily amused...

We have wall-to wall windows across the front of the cottage and with the bird feeders out front, we often have a bird fly into the window.It is always a sad thing to witness, but this time, my daughter and I were right here when it hit, and she was able to rescue it, give it a chance to get over the initial shock and then place it in safe spot to recover. The good news? It did recover and flew off!  

It was my daughter and SIL's last day here before heading back to the city for a few days...so she had one more session on the kite foil and has definitely come a long way from that first try a few days ago..I will sure miss them...there is so much more action when they are here!
