Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Mum!

Church this morning when I was licensed as Lay Minister to take communion to people in their homes and if necessary, in the absence of a member of Clergy, to lead a service using Reserved Sacrament. I did this during our last vacancy and it's a very special thing to be able to do. I was first licensed to do this about 30 years ago but our current Bishop is more formal and so licenses are issued and renewed every three years
The extra is me being surprised as the congregation sang Happy Birthday to me at the end of the service! (My birthday is tomorrow) I've edited out the others in the pictures, there were others in church, lol.
Blethers, you may recognise JW who was also licensed.
The main blip is of a mother and fledgling sparrow who kept me amused for ages feeding in the garden. The wee one's beak opened so wide I'm sure I could have seen it's tonsils- if sparrows have tonsils. It kept falling off the branch and at one point as it fluttered in to land NR twig, missed and landed on its mother's back. She was unimpressed and shook him off so he fluttered to the ground.
