Under the Pergola

I was at my mother’s house today, to show K some of the routines of the household, and to have lunch and a chat with her and my mother.

In K’s former jobs she has been more of a household help rather than a carer, and she has no experience with dementia patients at all. It’s not easy for her, getting my mother (who frequently forgets all about having seen that young woman before) to cooperate with her. But K has a friendly and supportive personality, and I hope that my mother will soon get used to her presence.

The blip is from my mother’s garden, of course. The grapes growing along and underneath the pergola won’t be ripe for another two months or so, but there will be plenty of them this year.
