Roll With It

“A Stretch Of The Legs”

For today it was the much anticipated 13 Bridges Challenge for Mrs S and I. Along with Joshua we set off by train and tube from West Byfleet to Trinity Park in London. We registered and at that point Josh decided to sign up and walk with us.
1125 and we were off, scorching hot and with London’s usual crowds we were soon over the first of the 13 Bridges, in order they were;

Tower Bridge
London Bridge
Southwark Bridge
Millennium Bridge
Blackfriars Bridge
Waterloo Bridge
Hungerford Bridge
Westminster Bridge
Lambeth Bridge
Vauxhall Bridge
Chelsea Bridge
Back Over Chelsea Bridge
Albert Bridge
Battersea Bridge

In between zig-zagging back & forth over the bridges we saw all the familiar sights of London, it was a lot of fun. What it wasn’t was 10 miles, closer to 13 by the time we arrived in Eelbrook Common and passed through the arch where we received congratulations, a commemorative medal and a much needed bottle of water but that didn't matter, its good to accomplish one of these type events each year..

It was a great day and an amazing experience.

We worked out that it was easier to get the bus to Clapham Junction and on by train and taxi back to West Byfleet. My sister Jacqui fed us well, (as she always does), before we headed off to bed to sleep the sleep of the weary.
