At last! (Day 3344)
A reasonably relaxed Saturday for a change.
After a morning wander with Sigyn, my beautiful wife and I headed off to check on the horses, stick some hay out and get the field chores done.
Back to Mum's for lunch via a far longer than usual because of partial road closures to enable a triathlon event to take place. The cycling route went past Mum's house and the road was closed to traffic in one direction, apart from the idiots who ignored the road closure signs.
After lunch we left Sigyn with Mum and headed to the horses again, getting Red and Jeeps out through Stromness and back along the shore. George was a bundle of energy today, really calm and relaxed through Stromness where he was happy to stop and snuggle tourists, a bit more enthusiastic out along the shore where he could stretch his legs. At times it was a bit like riding a pogo stick as he bucked his way along the path. He was thoroughly enjoying himself, and so was I.
It is the first time I have ridden in two weeks and it was great to be out in reasonable weather. Hopefully we will manage out tomorrow.
