New trainers - a metaphor for new political start

Watched Rishi's kind leaving speech between showers  - then Kier Starmer's welcome speech in the sunshine. We are all hoping for a brighter future. Kier said his priority was for 'A government of service '. Starmer is, indeed it seems an honorable man. We can be proud to be British again. Here's hoping that he can take the rest of his party with him. 

Later, in town, I bumped into the Green Party candidate. I recognised her from her literature. We chatted briefly and she explained that she could not vote for herself, as boundaries have changed and she had to vote in the Witham constituency.  

Today I popped into the solicitor - the contract for mums is ready to be exchanged. So I spent the afternoon collecting up the last of mum's personal possessions from the flat. Mum is finally moving out of Maldon. It feels a bit strange. 

My blip is my new trainers, which arrived today. My favourite brand as they are so colourful and comfortable.
