At last…Change for the better

An excuse for a quick blip! Because I only blip positive things in life now.

I took this photo of one of mum’s posters - this one on the garage. Sticking to her true core values, even though she lives in a solid Tory constituency, her support for Labour unwavering. But of course, in so many many other places around this country and Wales and Scotland we’ve managed to change the blue to red. The constituencies in Barnet being 3 of them. Including Thatcher’s Finchley. And I for one am very happy about that. I also can’t hide my delight at seeing the back, too, of a few specific high profile Tories.

I stayed up until 2am watching the results start to creep in. It was exciting. Then after barely 4 hours sleep I woke and logged straight in to iPlayer to see the dream of a Labour government had come true.

I appreciate everyone has their own views on the different parties, and I respect your right to your own views. I’ve never been shy or ashamed to admit I support Labour. I’m proud of it. At last, after 14 long years standing in the shadows, listening to Conservative colleagues celebrating each time a new blue PM was elected, I am glad it’s now our turn. Labour have the chance to make some positive changes and I hope the mountain isn’t too high to climb in the time allowed. They have a huge challenge.

It’s been a good day.
