An England Flag

It’s years since I’ve been to the cinema. I had booked to see Wilding at HOME, Manchester’s independent cinema (and much else) early evening.

I travelled there from my osteopathy session so arrived with plenty of time to spare before my table booking at the restaurant. So I went for a walk to have a close up look at all the nearby glossy new towers at Great Jackson Street. It’s all pretty astonishing (parts of three towers feature in the image, no editing involved). It does have the feel of a community, but a very different one. Plenty of people about, all in their 20’s and 30’s. An astonishing number walking a whole variety of little dogs. And Padel courts. I chatted to a young lady at the kiosk as I’d never heard of it. A cross between tennis and squash, open from 7am until 10pm and courts have to be booked a week in advance they are so popular.

The film was excellent.
