Botanics

Cloud cleared in the afternoon : sunny walk in the Botanics. Main blip is bright flowers in the north area of the garden in among the vegetable plantings. 

We had tea and a scone in the Inverleith house cafe; for the first time a moorhen was contending with the robin, pigeons, a crow and gulls for crumbs. 

Extras
1. the moorhen on a tiny nest which it was pulling together on the pond in the courtyard; 
2.  the moorhen at my husband's feet under the table.
3.  a mallard in the sun at the edge of that pond.
