Canada day flowers
I’d forgotten that H was going to a Canada day service at Shorncliffe cemetery today so needed flowers to lay on his allocated war grave. Very pleased with my garden bouquet that I put together before school.
In a weird coincidence H’s great great grandfather’s brother, emegrated to Canada then volunteered to serve in the Canadian regiment who were based at Shorncliffe during WW1. He survived the war having been discharged injured in 1917, but would have served alongside those who died in the raids on Shorncliffe barracks and were being remembered today.
