Herbal

I was up at 7am as usual today, had breakfast and fed Merlin, then did my morning check on the plants in the garden. We only have a small garden so it doesn’t take long but it’s a relaxing way to start the day and I like to be outside first thing. It’s usually quiet out and the birds can be heard more clearly. We visited Emsworth for our morning walk. The sea was out and the weather overcast. We even had a gentle drizzle for a while.

This afternoon I spent a few hours at the allotment. Virtually all the time was spent weeding. Still it was a good job done before the weeds go to seed. The gooseberries have all been eaten by birds - I assume. I will need to net them in future. The herb bed was looking colourful with the marjoram and oregano in bloom. Out of sight there’s a big sage bush filled with purple flowers and bees.

Grateful:
- To meet lots of friendly walkers and dogs at Emsworth this morning.
- To have time to make oat and carrot bars - a kind of raw bar and a new recipe to me.
- To see the wildlife sightings I’ve reported on our local patch being accepted into iRecord.
