Feeling Hot

Knowing the forecast we were up early to get some things done before the heat of the day. Andy gave Merlin a short walk in the meadow and I went to the allotment to water the plants. I stayed a little longer than intended as yesterday I watched a video about ‘chop and drop’ method using comfrey and I wanted to try it on my plot around the aubergines and cucumbers. That done I sat for a rest and noticed this lone poppy growing next a vine at the end of my plot.

This afternoon it’s been nearly 30 degrees in the garden so I stayed inside and made a couple of jars of redcurrant jelly and listened to an audiobook. This evening I put up the tent in the back garden so I have the option of sleeping outside if it is too warm in the house.
