Sally Mair - Loving life

Waiting!

Today we roused ourselves slowly after last night's excitement. A full English breakfast awaited, but sadly the very tasty overnight oats I'd enjoyed yesterday were all finished. You have to be down early for those the waiter said, they're very popular. You'd think maybe in that case they should have made a few more. Breakfast ran from 8 -11 and we were down just after 9 so I won't have been the only one disappointed I'm sure.
Our trains were at noon so we checked out just after 11 and hung around the station until it was time to leave.
Joyce's train to Leeds was just after mine, which took me to Doncaster to catch the train North. I was amused to see how long it took Joyce to raise her eyes from her free newspaper and realise I was on the platform opposite.
The travel all went smoothly, I'd booked well in advance and got a good price for first class, with my Railcard for an additional ⅓ off, so spent the journey in some comfort. After my cup of tea and free sandwich, I woke to the sound of the announcement that we were arriving in Edinburgh.
Colin picked me up, so I was home quickly. I wandered into the garden to top up the feeders and the water level in the pond. I'm not sure if the liner has a leak or if the water is evaporating, I think I need to investigate if I can bear it.
