Shaun and the Heart of Kent Hospice

The Heart of Kent Hospice are leading on a Shaun the Sheep trail around Maidstone to raise awareness and funds for the Hospice: https://shaunheartofkent.co.uk/

It was a member of their team that secured the continuing healthcare funding for Doreen in the last 3 months of her life. We are deeply grateful for that and it was a pleasure to be able to talk to them about what they did for Doreen and us. They were very pleased to hear of our gratitude.

Their stall was one of dozens of charities, local organisations and commercial operations at the Bearsted Fayre on the Green. It was fabulously well attended. The weather was sunny and not too warm. Just right for cups of tea and beer or cocktails!

The Bearsted and Thurnham Society, for which I’m the membership secretary also had a stall explaining our work and providing a light hearted quiz about Bearsted and Thurnham with a £20 gift voucher as first prize.

Over 50 entries for the quiz which even long term residents found a challenge. Four new members joined, paying their £5 subscription and many application forms were taken away: https://bearstedandthurnhamsociety.org/
