Rhyl Botanical Gardens Bowling Green

THURSDAY

The day started off warm and sunny but for the bowls match this evening became overcast with the odd rain shower and then by 8:30 pm the sun came out again.

I was out in the garden at 08:00 and also went over to Sainsbury's in Rhuddlan mid-morning. There was lots of activity today on the bin front (see yesterday's Blip). The green garden waste bins were collected first thing and shortly afterwards the food waste and recycling stuff. The recycling lorry was named "Dusty McBinlid". The general waste lorry arrived at such time to empty the blue wheelie. Also a delivery from Ocado by Terence in the Fig van and a visit from the Openreach engineers who are surveying the street for fibre broadband connections.  On top of all this we had new fitted wardrobes installed today so there were two large vans outside and fitters in and out of the house for most of the morning.

This evening, after moving clothes from hanging rails into the new wardrobes,  I headed over to the Botanical Gardens at Rhyl for the league match against "Sunny Rhyl Bowling Club". I lost my own game but overall the team had a good win.

It's described as an "Historic Park with a Quaint Cafe", but when the cafe next to the bowling green closes at 3:30 pm the ugly metal shutters come down.
