Beep-Beep!

We were at Family B's house bright and early this morning as our daughter had a hair appointment. We took an UN-birthday prezzie with us for TYM: a toy sit-and-ride car! He was very pleased with it and 'helped' Gramps put it together. He quickly got the hang of getting on and off and scooting with his feet. He liked the lifting lid of the seat, too.  Also took a freshly baked banana loaf with us, and some freshly cut sweet peas. (Feeling very domesticated! ;-))

He was a little darling all morning, and I managed to avoid lifting him, indoors and out, despite a few arms-up requests. But I did get down at floor level with him to make up for it. (My  shoulder is still sore, but sooo much better than a few days ago. And my cough is almost gone.)

Today I brushed the young master's hair - and he loved it - sat very still and clearly liked the feel of the brush thorough his curls. Don't think I've done that before, or not since he had so many curls!

Interested to discover that the car was made by Chad Valley. The toy-maker has been around since the early 19th century, so part of our childhood, and my parents'. No longer are the toys made in England, though, but - as you'll have guessed - China. The toys are still commissioned in Britain, and the firm belongs to Sainsbury's, hence we bought this from Argos, also now part of Sainsbugs. So now we know!

After we were home, I slept half the afternoon away, when I'd only intended to lie down for a bit, but it probably did me good. Did do a pile of ironing, too.
