Loft Ladder

This morning we finally have Vinnie here, fitting the loft ladder. I had been very nervous about someone coming to our house. I always am. I know it's a junk-filled crap-shack, but when you know someone who doesn't live here or even know us that well is coming in you start to see things through their eyes... And you realise how bad it is!

I needn't have worried with Vinnie - he really doesn't give a damn! He is getting on with the job, and I have snapped a couple of shots.

The plan today had been to go out to town to take my tree photo for the month. That will have to wait until Saturday as this is taking time and the mess it is making is astronomical! He says he will clean up after himself, but he has an important errand to run later today so I doubt he will have time to do a proper job. I will do a bit too and get Brian to help when he gets home. All the coats in the hallway will probably have to go in the wash as well!

We really need to do a Swedish Death Clean! Döstädning

Our loft has not been touched for as long as the house has been built. It is made of "lat and plaster" (See extra!) and there is debris from the fitting of the roof. I realise we need a new ceiling option too - this ceiling is awful! Probably toxic material so not sure how we would dispose of it.

Poor Minstrel is not happy. He is shut in the front room. He has full supplies of food, water and litter tray but I can't go in and out as the front door is open - also a window upstairs.

He will be given treats to compensate later!
