Look What I Found!

It is a Fish Fly!  I haven't seen one in ages and never on my enclosed porch. It was clinging to my chair, and I thought I would catch and release it, but it was expired.  So, like any good photographer would do, I photographed it.  I loved the shadow it created.  Its wings are very delicately translucent.  It is 3 inches long, a large insect that feeds on fish larvae, hence the name.  How it got on my porch is a mystery, but after its 15 minutes of fame it will receive a proper burial.  Bob comes to mow today, and I have flagged off the wee meadow which is starting to regrow.  He won't make that mistake again!
