Fungus

I went out for my walk just after 8 a.m. today - to be in the coolest part of the day. It was actually overcast - although it was quite humid so I soon got quite warm.

Stopped in the woods (it was well shaded and cool) to photograph this fungus growing in the moss on top of an old log.

I managed to balance the camera on the log and took 10 shots for a focus stack..Photoshop seems to have done a grand job stitching them together.

I think it is probably Dryad’s Saddle - but the markings on top seem to be quite faint. Maybe it is an immature one.

Mrs madwill finally got her state pension through - no explanation or apology for the delay…we just hope it gets paid regularly now.
