Lanyards

Lovely warm and sunny weather was the backdrop to a day of chasing around, both physically and virtually, addressing the final arrangements for the Workshop. In the morning I started the chase for tea and coffee catering, eventually finding out that it wasn't possible in the building we're using, and when I discovered that Old College was a potential venue, I learned that delivered catering is very busy this week. Thankfully the School has taken up the baton on my behalf. After a discussion with A and И, the food and drinks order for the dinner was settled and submitted.

The physical chasing around involved taking A into Edinburgh for a physio appointment, then going to Loanhead with И to pick up merchandise, but fail to get lanyards from an office supplies outfit on the same industrial estate. By then we were hungry, and Stewart Brewing was next door. Unfortunately they don't do food at lunchtime, so we just bought beer. Back home after lunch in the Storehouse, I wrote some more tutorial materials, whilst И worked through what I'd already prepared.

When A had got back from rowing, and И had finished a 90-minute conversation with her sister, daughter K joined us and, with Django, we walked to the Craigie for dinner in the beer garden. It was pleasant until the midges arrived, at which point I walked Django and the others went home.

Earlier, K saved us a lot of time and stress by suggesting that we bought lanyards from Amazon: children have their uses!
