Victoria with her tree

Today I had planned to catch up on all the jobs that were not completed yesterday due to my day of disasters. However, Victoria invited me and her mum to go with her to the garden centre. No contest when it comes to going to a garden centre, farm shop and lunch with the female members of my family.

We started at Bury Farm near her home, with lunch, followed by browsing and shopping. I managed to get two half price Hellebores to add to my collection in the large border; one is pink, the other does not have a label so we wait to see what colour the flowers will be. I also bought a necklace, which I liked last time we visited and regretted not buying at the time. Then we went to Dobbies where I bought two carnivorous plants for my husband.

We then visited Victoria’s home, where today’s picture was taken. When Victoria and Jake moved into their new build home two and a half years ago, they were giving trees to those who wanted one, this was so that the new area would look better more quickly. When the tree was given to them it was just a “stick” and Victoria doubted it would grow. This year it produced four blossoms; needless to say, it did grow.

The temperature at noon today was twenty-two degrees Celsius.
