Visiting Wildfowl

I looked out of the kitchen window this morning and saw this beautiful Heron, standing near the pond. It stayed on the grass, before wandering into the pond where it stayed for quite a while. I know there are two nearby as the gardeners saw them a couple of weeks ago, but I had not seen them actually in the orchard.
 
Today I started on the jobs which have not been done during the last two days. The main job completed this morning was emptying and thoroughly cleaning the fridge. A boring, but necessary task and the cleaned fridge might have been my blip today if the Heron had not appeared early this morning.
 
More boring jobs to catch up on tomorrow and next week, but for the rest of the day I shall continue to read the book chosen by one of my book groups; The Night Circus by Evie Morgenstern.
 
The temperature at noon today was twenty-two degrees Celsius.
