The hall that wouldn't die

I have told the story of the Burgh Hall in Dunoon before in this journal , but an affirmation of the fact that the community refused to let it die (and engaged the help of some key people to ensure it didn't, particularly John McAslan and Dave Sakgenkahn) was last night's Gala Dinner to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Hall, and the 15th since it was saved .

After that  latter milestone  of course there was a long period of restoration , during which however it continued in use and now it is a power house of arts and culture in and for the Cowal community.

It is always a struggle to keep such places going but so far so good and I am delighted to now be a Patron of the Hall, and engaged in offering what help I can from time to time.
