Ruined , but doesn't need to be.
I am always saddened to see ruined houses , particularly on land owned by public agencies.
This one is at Dunoon hospital and whilst it seems pretty far gone and I am sure someone would take it on and eventually make a home out of it.
The Castle Lodge is another case in point. I have blipped that before yet despite considerable interest the Council refused to sell it and instead insisted on doing it up for its own uses. only to discover that the work had been done so badly that it had to be tackled once more. Now it is sitting empty , as the charity that was eventually to take it over has gone out of business.
That all means that somewhere which could have been an ideal place for someone without a roof over their head has sheltered no one in at least the last ten years, and probably for much longer.
The housing emergency in rural Scotland won't be completely solved by small gestures like these, but they do help to chip away at the problem. Public bodies should be focused on that, but sadly some at least seem not to care.
