Sgwarnog: In the Field

Magpie

For the first day of summer, the warmer weather brought out a few more butterflies.

I saw my first Meadow Brown of the year. There were also plenty of Large Skipper, including my first two digit count of any single species in one location this year. Peacock, Speckled Wood and Green-veined White were also on the wing.

I disturbed this Small Magpie moth when inspecting the Butterbur patch - they like to shelter underneath the large umbrella like leaves.
