A place for artists

But only if you know. The Carillon Centre in Loughborough is now almost devoid of shops. Those remaining are The Works, Eurochange, WHSmith, New Look, H Samuel, VisionExpress, 3, EE, and on the corner with Swan Street, Tylers. It's a bleak walk from the car park entrance to Caffè Nero round the corner.

Space is sometimes given over to creatives, like this pop-up shop here. I don't know who the artists are or how you can ask to join but there's some very colourful work inside.

Len wanted a mugshot for his driving licence application. Don't ask. I suggested Max Spielman on the marketplace. So while he went to have his photo taken, I was able to sit in a window seat at Caffè Nero and chat to the chap who used to be our postie. He remembered the walk down the drive to our house. He and his wife have a shi'tzu almost identical to Basil who is 14 years old. They showed me a video.

When Len came back, he queued for coffee and guess what, Caffè Nero are finally offering gluten free sandwiches!
