Three Edinburgh monuments

I took this shot from Jeffrey Street this morning as I crossed town to reach my podiatry appointment at FASIC. The building in the middle of my shot is the Governor's House (and not Edinburgh Castle, as I have witnessed tourists declare from the train!) To the left is the Political martyrs' monument, and on the right is the Dugald Stewart monument.

It was an expensive podiatry appointment because I had to pay in advance for some orthotics. I added to my morning spending when I collected my emerald and diamond eternity ring from the jeweller following its repair (which, I think, cost as much as the price of the ring itself when we bought it in Hong Kong 30 years ago).

After the usual Thursday walk to LIDL and Tesco, this afternoon I continued my Mummy hazelh paperwork in the study. From 5pm onwards, I also listened to the England v Denmark Euro game through the open door. I'm glad that I didn't devote myself to the match entirely. From Mr hazelh's cursing remarks in the sitting room it sounded like a dreadful game, and that England was lucky to get away with a 1-1 draw.

I have enjoyed my first day out and about now that Covid has been banished from my life - at least until next time.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (18,247 steps).
