Insurance premium in old money

Who - other than my parents - keeps insurance paperwork that dates back 56 years to the era of 'old money'? My not-so-little sister wasn't even born when Mummy hazelh paid this insurance premium in Kendal in summer 1968!

I've been busy all day working my way through a stack of random papers related to my parents' possessions. I need to extract data to add to the catalogue of junk antiques and artwork that we created last year. This is all part of the process of the Great House Clearance, which should come to its conclusion the week after next.

As well as being appalled at my parents' record-keeping practice, I am astonished at the plummet in the value of antiques in recent decades. I knew that prices had dropped a lot, but not to the extent that my research today indicates.

I took a couple of hours off this afternoon to tidy up our basement area, and then prepare our supper of gnocchi, squash, mushrooms, and sage. I thought that I deserved a break having started 'work' at 5:00 this morning, unable to sleep due to worry.

The big news, however, is that I no longer test positive for Covid. Hurrah!

I believe that there is a football match to watch this evening...

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; gardening.
