Fake or fortune?

Over the past few days it has felt as if I have a new job as a researcher on the BBC's Fake or fortune. I am currently matching up old references to furniture and artwork in my parents' collection to the records that we created for them when we completed our audit in February 2023. I think that this is a worthwhile exercise because I am discovering interesting details about the items, including their provenance. These should be useful to the auctioneer when the goods are catalogued for sale.

My blip shows an example of the type of paperwork that I am examining. On the left of is a list of paintings in Mummy hazel's handwriting made in 1991 in preparation for a visit to the house from Phillips. To the right are valuations for paintings made by an art dealer in 1980. The red numbers are in my handwriting. Here I am tying the references in the notes to the records in the master spreadsheet. (In the spreadsheet itself, I am adding details from the papers, e.g. initial purchase prices, old valuations.)

My pilates class was cancelled at very short notice this morning due to the illness of our teacher Marc. I took advantage of the extra time to keep working on the paperwork illustrated in my blip. For my main exercise of the day I ran 7k with Mr hazelh just before lunchtime.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; 7k run; walking (13,697 steps including run).
