Pink

Dactylorhiza in a trough outside my front door. These are of garden origin, acquired long ago. I am not sure if they are a pure species or hybrid. Beautiful and vigorous, they’re increasing year on year.

I awoke feeling under the weather. Not ill, just a bit blah. So a day of two halves. Quiet until late afternoon apart from running Jamie to riding at Arthog. A little snooze after lunch.

Then …. I picked up a friend and drove to Aberystwyth where we met up with others for food before heading to Bank Vault for the open mic night. Our ten minute set went really well. We were pretty chilled, so it was just as much fun as our private singing.

Then … I drove to Ruth’s in Birmingham. Who knew that Aberystwyth to Birmingham fastest route involves almost no dual carriageway, no motorway … and is largely very scenic? There were B roads. There were sheep - lots - on the road. There were escaped heifers all across the road … but very little traffic so it was a lovely drive.

Tired now. Sleep time.

PS Big thanks for all the gifts left for yesterday’s blip which have pushed it towards the top of the charts!
