Shakespeare at large

It was the London Legal Walk this evening. 10 kilometres to raise money for organisations that provide free legal advice to those who cannot afford it otherwise. Hopefully a change of government will reverse some of the restrictions on legal aid that have been applied in recent years but, in the meantime, this support is essential to ensure that access to justice is not defined by whether you can afford it.  I took the River East route over the Millenium Bridge along the South Bank, over Tower Bridge and back past St Paul's Cathedral and the Old Bailey to the start point in Chancery Lane. On the way, in Southwark, I passed this giant portrait of Shakespeare on a wall a few hundred metres from Shakespeare's Globe, the reproduction of the original Globe Theatre on the original site (see extra photo). I've seen many an excellent production there and the atmosphere, especially the interplay between the actors and the groundlings, is great. 18,000 steps today, comfortably over the 10k distance target.
