Bucket List

I have one and today I ticked something off that list: a visit to one of my very favourite Artists, Mary Ann Rogers. We arrived at her lovely home not far away from our caravan site. The short journey took longer than it should due to unexpected road closures on the quickest route and with no diversions shown we reverted to good old map reading which led us up some very adventurous single track roads.

We were given a lovely welcome by Mary Ann and given free rein of her stunning house and gallery. I love all her work but knew I couldn't afford any of her original art work but I still have some Birthday present funds which I had saved especially and purchased a gorgeous print 'Rig and Furrow'* which I have always admired. Beautiful colour and light reminding me of Mary Ann's wonderful surroundings, big skies and patchwork landscape.

2 hours later we left and stopped off in Bellingham for Tea on the Train. Homemade food and drinks served in a railway carriage on the platform of the Heritage Site of the once North Tyne Railways which closed in 1963 and an interesting little museum to browse in.

It rained all day.
