Dolly's Day

MY HOUSE

I phoned my bank this morning to tell them that I had forgotten my PIN.  It was an automated system which wasn't user friendly.  It was OK while I had to input details using phone keypad but when I had to say things such as " mothers maiden name " and "reason I was calling " the system didn't seem to understand. ( maybe its the Geordie accent )  Finally got through to an actual person who was very helpful.  A PIN reminder is being sent by post but this could take 4 or 5 days to arrive.  If I want to find out my PIN sooner I can go to a bank branch where someone will show me how to access it using the app. The nearest branch of my bank is Newcastle and I haven't got  time to go there tomorrow.  Fortunately my bank holds a drop in banking service at my local library one day a week on a Tuesday so I think I will pop down tomorrow and see if I can get myself sorted.

I had a parcel to collect at Tesco so I headed down to the village this afternoon. I also dropped off a bag of stuff at the charity shop.  Didn't want much shopping as Im trying to use  up bits and pieces from my fridge before I go away on Wednesday for a short trip to Sussex.  So today I mainly bought cat and bird food.

Weather had been dry on the way down to the village but it rained on my way home ... and its more or less rained ever since.

The Mono Monday challenge is  "something you treasure/something special to you".  I spent some time thinking of little things around the house that were special that I might blip but then I realised that the thing I treasure the most is the house itself. Having somewhere to live, a haven where I feel safe and warm is so precious.  I can't imagine what it feels like to be homeless.  And there are so many homeless people across the world especially at the moment where homes have been destroyed by bombing in various wars.  Even in the UK homelessness can happen due to fire or flood or personal circumstances.  So the fact that I have a home - mortgage free - makes me feel very lucky.  So I took a quick shot of the back of my house as I left it to go out this afternoon. Thanks to Pinkhairedlady  for hosting the challenge.
