Dolly's Day

By dollydoug

TINY DOG.

I needed to go down to the library in the village today to sort out my PIN at the " Barclays Local" - its a service they have there  one day a week on a Tuesday.  It operates between 9.30am and 4pm. The website says you can drop in any time but there might be a wait if its busy.  I decided to go down around 2pm..

When I got there " The Library Ladies " told me that things had changed - the walk in service is only in the mornings and in the afternoon you need an appointment.  And there were no appointments free this afternoon.  One of the ladies asked me what my problem was and when I told her she asked me to wait and she would ask the " Barclays Lady " if she could fit me in.

So I waited .... and waited.  It got nearer and nearer and nearer to 4pm and I thought I would have to leave without seeing the " Barclays Lady".  However after she had finished her last appointment she agreed to see me.  I think this had a lot to do with the " Library Ladies " pleading my case.

In the end the " Barclays Lady"  was very helpful.  She set up the Barclays app on my phone and once this was done I could find out what my debit card PIN was.  Then she suggested I nip to a cashpoint to see if the PIN would work.( she wasn't sure if my card was still " locked ". )  So I hot footed it along to use the cashpoint outside Tesco - and the PIN worked... and I got some cash.  When I got back to the library the " Library Ladies " were thrilled.  And the " Barclays Lady"  was pleased too --- it meant she could knock off work and go home.  She really went above and beyond as by this time it was well after 4pm.  I told her I would write to Barclays to let them know what a star she was.

No shopping needed today so I just went straight home.  Did a few chores and then did my packing.  Im all set for my trip tomorrow.

The Tiny Tuesday challenge is " Tiny Dog ".  I bought this little ornament of a rough collie dog in Woolworths in the early 70's.  " Woolies"  was my favourite shop back then and I used to go there regularly in my lunch hour when I worked in Newcastle This little ornament was just cheap but its precious to me as it brings back memories of when and where I bought it - and also memories of my own rough collie. I got her in 1971. Her Kennel Club name was Skipline Golden Era but I called her Tara. Coincidentally she was born on 7th June - same day as me. She was a beautiful dog and much loved by all the family. Thanks to sk for hosting the challenge.
