Cycling the Western Reserve Greenway
Thursday
It was a warmer start this morning, so we went kayaking first - see extra. There was a bit of a breeze today, and you really felt it when you were paddling against it. We set off in the other direction to yesterday, towards the dam, and came across several little inlets with water lilies, quite a number of pink ones today. After a while, the wind seemed to be getting a bit worse, so we headed back in the other direction. I loved seeing all the swallows soaring and scooping over the water. After lunch back at the camper, we headed back to the bike trail, a bit further up than yesterday. The photos in my collage were mostly taken as we were cycling through Mosquito Lake State Wildlife area. I was hoping there would be a nice boardwalk or deck with some benches so you could sit and watch, but no such luck. We heard frogs, and saw a couple of red-winged blackbirds, but nothing more exciting than that! When we were approaching our turn around point, we passed the Amish farmhouse, shown in my lower right photo - they had the two horses, a cow, I think I heard a few goats, and chickens. We didn’t see the buggies, they must have been in one of the barns. We both made do with 10 miles return today, and returned to the camper for a cup of tea!
