“Moor to Life”

I know this is a very similar blip to BGCoffee’s but I wanted to point out this one particular canal boat name, as I thought it was a great play on words.

The only photo on my phone from yesterday was of some ankle boots I like from Hotter, to remind me if I ever get a chance to visit an actual store to try them on. So I’m not posting a blip, but just to say that we spent the day leisurely driving up to Manchester, stopping for a great midday meal at The Malt at Landywood - a pub/restaurant that David searched out on the way.

In the evening we went to an Opera called “The Marriage of Figaro” which David’s ex-school teacher (Dave Walmsley) had produced and invited us to experience. It was a very interesting way of performing an opera, which was sung in English and with great acting and a very basic stage set up (it’s called ‘Flat Pack Opera’)

We stayed the night at Dave and his wife Sue’s home and were treated to a delicious and healthy breakfast in the morning.

Later on we went for this lovely walk along the Bridgewater Canal, (the first canal built in the country!) with David’s friend from his school days - Chris, (who has been to visit us in Fort Worth) last October.

Then we drove back down the M6 to where we came from and booked to stay another 2 nights at Kingsbury Water Park campground again, because we needed to wash some clothes and check out some more of those fantastic walks if the weather will co-operate!
