Hope

There's nothing like the day of the first match in a Scottish football campaign at a major championships. The hopes of the fabulous supporters are sky high, and maybe "this time" they won't be dashed. In truth, with third placed qualification possible, maybe Scotland will get out of the group stages for the first time in a major competition. And, as an Englishman, I hope they do - as I always have since I was a boy, and  Scotland was the only home nation in the '74 and '78 World Cups.

Meanwhile, I've managed to talk to Roger's "lifelong friend", spend time refining the code I'm writing, have a meeting with researcher J, and extract two more abstracts from our workshop participants. Just one more to get - the deadline was today - and it's not an important one.

Kick-off in 15 minutes!

Hopes dashed in 19 minutes...

.... Well, not completely, as four points against Switzerland and Hungary would be enough. And so it goes on...
