The old and the new

Bertie and I had a walk close to home this morning. It was through an area that had been a coniferous plantation for over fifty years and was felled about ten years ago. The grey stumps are all that remains of the conifers and now there has been replanting of native hardwoods such as this oak.
It was another chilly walk but we enjoyed it and Bertie did his usual trick of jumping onto a tree stump to get a treat (extra).
