Aoife leaves St Katherine's Dock GBRow Endurance
G and I ran with Soul Runners for an 8k to Beeleigh Falls and back up Bastard Hill. Elaine led the run, but had never done that route before. So, G led. Elaine was really grateful and loved the route so much that she suggested making it a monthly challenge. I loved running with the group and shall make it a regular part of my week when possible.
Finally got round to mowing the lawn following 'no mow May'. It was quie an effort even though I set the mower to 7.5 cm, as the rain has left the lawn thick and lush, unlike last year. The robin was really bold and enjoyed catching the insects that emerged. I also sat in the garden and watched a set of fledgling blue tits enjoy the June Berry. I never realised that they ate the fruits. Normally the blackbird eats them all first.
Aoife, C's uni pal started her Seachange GBRow around the British Isles for a non-stop row. She set off with her crew of 6 for the 40 plus day row in the Endurance. There is a force 9 gale in the forecast, so I hope that they don't get disheartened so early on the venture. I have downloaded an app so that I can follow their progress.
This evening I enjoyed Dina AS run an amazing 100m and win Gold in the Rome European Athletics.
