Break from the kitchen

With six pals were coming to us for supper there was a lot to be done, so first I got done with the shopping, then got Soul to get his taxi, then with the Greek lamb wrapped in paper slowly cooking, we went to the forest.

It was a great walk with no diversions needed, and lovely and warm when the biting wind dropped on occasion.

Back for a chat with Mum as I prepared a modern twist on a crepe Suzette, made with an orange toffee syrup with lots of booze.

We lit the fire for the first time this winter only to find it was smoking into the room, no matter how the flue was set, but it gradually cleared and it was great to feel to house so warm again.

Many bottles of red were consumed and accompanied by lots of laughs. A great night was had by all.
