Dalbeattie
The apartment we stayed in was absolutely lovely, but unfortunately had one key flaw: blinds.
With the weather being so beautiful, the sun came streaming in and lit up our well appointed bedroom. The only problem was that it did this at about a retina-scorching 4.30 in the morning, which meant an unwanted early start on an admittedly gorgeous day.
We drank copious amounts of tea and coffee to try and kickstart our respective systems and to a degree it worked as we were able to function. We packed up and headed to our second ride of the weekend in Dalbeattie. It was a nice ride with some good runs, but a poor-cousin by comparison with the previous day’s activities at Kirroughtree.
Big Blue did at least have some company in the car park by the time we returned from the run….
The bikes and attaching gear safely stowed away once more, we hit the road for home and in search of tea and cake, we stopped at Gretna Green and via a carefully posed photo (complete with wedding rings) pretended that we had got married on the way home, sending said photos to family and friends where we received quite an array of responses!
Great weekend.
