Marjorie's ramblings

My favourite show

Today it was the annual Roman Wall Show, held on fields above Steel Rigg on Hadrian's Wall. The views all around were splendid, spoiled only by the cars parked around the show rings. I would not have them there. (Think of the poor photographers!)

My main image shows young hounds setting off on a trail across country. They were raring to go and had to be held back until the white flag went down. (They have dye on them - they are not bleeding, just in case you were concerned.)

The first extra shows the winner of "The dog the judge would like to take home with him"!

My second extra shows a typical scene in the sheep classes. This show has sheep and more sheep. The judging goes on all day.

I was lucky because the show secretary saw me first thing and asked if I was going to share photos on Facebook as I have in the past. The result was a lunch ticket. That was welcome and excellent. (Better than a bacon sandwich from a van.)

I have hundreds of images to trawl through and decide which to edit.
The children's races were wonderful and the industrial section and the Cumberland wrestling and the dog show!)

Time to put up my feet now!
