Caerfyrddin - er ei fwyn ei hun

Caerfyrddin - er ei fwyn ei hun ~ Carmarthen - for its own sake

“Money is only a secondary concern in the production of first rate works…There are no bargains in art”
― William Burges

Eleni, rydyn ni wedi penderfynu mynd ar 'deithiau dydd' yn hytrach nag wythnos o wyliau. Rydyn ni hefyd wedi creu rhestr o leoedd i ymweld dros yr haf, a chawn ni weld faint y byddwn ni gallu eu hymweld.

Heddiw roedd tro Caerfyrddin. Mae'n aml y lle rydyn ni mynd trwyddo ar ein ffordd i rywle arall ond roeddwn ni'n meddwl y dylwn ni ymweld y dre er ei fwyn ei hun.

Yn ffodus mae trên uniongyrchol o Gaerdydd i Gaerfyrddin ac mae taith hawdd a cyfforddus. Mae'n bonws i feddwl am ddechrau a gorffen y diwrnod yn ein tŷ ni, ac yn fod yn ein gwelyau ein hunain a diwedd y dydd, dim gwelyau rhyfedd ac anghyfforddus eleni.

Cawson ni ddiwrnod difyr dros ben yng Nghaerfyrddin. Roedden ni'n hapus cerdded o gwmpas y dre ac yn weld yr holl siopa. Yr amser arall y bydden ni'n chwilio am barciau a lleoedd hardd ond y tro hwn roedd e'n dda iawn i weld y dre. Roedd llawer o siopau diddorol yng Nghaerfyrddin - siopau crefftau, siopau hen bethau ac yn y blaen. Prynodd Nor'dzin bowlen am ei uwd brecwast. Bydd e'n gofrodd dda iawn i gofio'r dydd.

Ymwelon ni'r hen gastell gyda byrddau stori yn dweud am hanes y bobl yn ystod cyfnod y gwrthryfel

Aethon i i 'Cegin Myrddin am ginio. Roedden ni wedi mynd yna o'r blaen. Mae eu rholiau selsig yn enfawr ac yn dda iawn.

Gwnaethon ni ymweld â rhai o'r eglwysi yn y dre. Hoffais i yn arbennig y ffenestri gwydr lliw.

Mae Caerfyrddin yn dre ddiddorol a hanesyddol. Gwnaethon ni mwynhau ein diwrnod yna.

This year, we've decided to go on 'day trips' rather than a week's holiday. We've also created a list of places to visit over the summer, and we'll see how many we can visit.

Today was Carmarthen's turn. It's often the place we pass through on our way to somewhere else but we thought we should visit the town for its own sake.

Fortunately there is a direct train from Cardiff to Carmarthen and it is an easy and comfortable journey. It's a bonus to think about starting and ending the day in our house, and being in our own beds and at the end of the day, no strange and uncomfortable beds this year.

We had a very enjoyable day in Carmarthen. We were happy to walk around town and see all the shopping. The other time we would look for parks and beautiful places but this time it was very good to see the town. There were many interesting shops in Carmarthen - craft shops, antique shops and so on. Nor'dzin bought a bowl for his breakfast porridge. It will be a very good souvenir to remember the day.

We visited the old castle with storyboards telling about the history of the people during the period of the rebellion

We went to Cegin Myrddin for lunch. We had been there before. Their sausage rolls are huge and very good.

We visited some of the churches in town. I especially liked the stained glass windows.

Carmarthen is an interesting and historic town. We enjoyed our day there.
