Darkness on the edge of Democracy
Andrew Hay worked as a shop steward in Glasgow at the time of the Miners strike 40 years ago.
It launched his career at 39 years of age as an artist as he painted the struggle of the miners he saw in his daily work delivering food parcels within the mining community.
Today the current exhibition of his work, Darkness on the edge of democracy is even more relevant today as we witness the potential collapse of democracy in the Western world.
This exhibition at the
Smith art gallery in Stirling runs until the end of the month and is well worth a visit.
