Yoghurt for dogs

While in Callander this afternoon to visit my favourite shoe shop I got caught in the rain and sort  shelter.
The result is this photo. It’s a snapshot of life in this small Highland town on a wet afternoon in June.
Take the placard advertising frozen yoghurt for dogs.
There must be a demand from tourists, and this is a tourist hotspot, or they wouldn’t be selling these doggy treats. I doubt if shrewd  Scots would be buying yoghurt for their dogs.
Do you see the guy standing in the doorway smoking a cigarette? He too is sheltering from the rain like me.  The No Smoking message has yet to reach some parts of the local population.
As for the couple caught out by the latest ferocious shower, they are tourists unprepared for our inclement weather and seek comfort from each other as they hurry along the main street clutching their latest purchases.

Note the plastic chairs outside to tempt visitors to sit and watch Highland life go by. Nobody is taking up this offer in the rain.
For those of a certain age Callander is famous for the filming of Dr Finlay's casebook . Also, the first Scottish person I ever met happened to be Janet, Dr Finlay's housekeeper, ( Barbara Mullen) ,whom I interviewed while working in London for an American newspaper. But that was a long, long time ago.
